... A-aa. Kinjou? [That was not an awkward stutter, fuck no. Clearing his throat a little abruptly, making noise like he's coughing and like that is the reason for that hitch in answering after an abrupt minute, Arakita tries again.]

[Even though he's hardly adept at reading Arakita just yet, Kinjou figures right away that this is most likely not what he was expecting.]

[To be fair, he didn't complain when Arakita put them there. Scratching his chin on the other end, walking around idly while talking, Arakita definitely would say he's not pacing. Except he is, this motion across the living room and back.]

A little of both, honestly. Amoi is very open and encouraging of sex, and from what I have seen there seems to often be some sort of festivity that either revolves around sex or causes it. Arousal does not always simply come unprovoked, but at times it is... difficult to avoid.

It can take some time to get used to. When I first arrived at Amoi, I ended up at a convention meant for pets. Not animal pets, but people. As pets.

I would have to agree. [This isn't a laughing matter, but a part of Kinjou is just a tiny but amused at Arakita's response. Very appropriate.]

From what I've learned, mongrels can be taken in as "pets" by elites for a variety of reasons. Surprisingly the arrangement can be very consensual, but there are records of illegal pet registration and even an illegal pet trade in the past, where those designated as mongrels were assigned as pets against their will. There have been protests about these matters. Some have led to violence.

Lighter colors tend to be mongrel colors, such as blond, white and silver. Red as well. [He tends to remember that the most just because of Makishima's hair.]

There is also a matter that at some point the castes were switched, so I imagine there is a lot of frustration concerning the change, since those of us that are now elites were intended to be mongrels in the beginning.

[Blond. At least, he knows that much now. There's a half thought about Shinkai's hair, but it is passably brown enough minus those streaks he doesn't upkeep well enough, but any concerns he might have are in regards to Fukutomi's bleach blond hair. Why the hell he bleaches it - nevermind, it's not even important right now, because Fuku isn't here.

Arakita went quiet with his thoughts, so hopefully who he's thinking about isn't as obvious as it might be if Kinjou could see the look on Arakita's face.]

I get it, alright. Good to know still. So is this a history lesson to just tell me how weird this place is, or was there more you wanted to tell me about?

[Kinjou's had enough time in Amoi to realize what would happen to certain people he knows if they arrived, mainly his own team. Most of them would be fine aside from Naruko and Aoyagi (that doesn't even bring the fact that they're far too young to be here to being with). He's thought of Fukutomi too, the fact that the pride he holds in his bleached hair could get him in a terrible situation here, and he can't imagine how Arakita must feel knowing this, knowing what Fukutomi would have to face as a mongrel. Just being called a mongrel.

But there's no reason for him to think about it, not when Arakita's caught on to the fact that he's gotten very off the original topic, and he falters to say something in response.But he did. He's surprisingly sharp.]

For what I meant to call you about, I think I have said most of what I wanted to. [Not really, but he's not sure how comfortable Arakita would be if he spoke the rest of his thoughts.] Is there anything you would like to say in return? About what happened.

[Let's just say the first person to call Fukutomi a mongrel with Arakita nearby will be getting a fist in the face full of angry dog. Arakita has already given it as much thought as he plans to though - if Fukutomi did show up for whatever reason, he'd bring him here. He's not letting him stay out on the streets like that - never.]

I'm not sure what else to .... say. I guess. About what happened. [At least the history lesson gave Arakita time to gather his thoughts about that too - and at least make him less skittish about talking, even if it comes with small awkward pauses.] It happened. If it has to happen again, it's ... fine? It wasn't so awful I wouldn't ...

[He can't say it, but Kinjou at least understands what he meant to say, which is exactly a topic that he himself had wanted to bring up but didn't think he could. What happens if they end up in that sort of situation again? What happens if Arakita needs to relieve himself because of some bizarre festival or an unfortunate effect of aphrodisiacs or just, something, anything going wrong here like it seems is so common?

...well, Arakita has started them off on that subject. He'd might as well take the reigns to finish it off from his side. Kinjou's face feels slightly warm, and though he doesn't feel as embarrassed as he normally would if he wasn't used to certain things in Amoi, there's still definitely an effect on him just by thinking about this.

Thinking about... doing sexual things, with Arakita. Again.]

I wouldn't mind doing such things with you again, Arakita. If it's necessary at any point.

[He'd rather not let him get hurt by doing things with someone that could harm him, or making decisions he might regret. Sort of the lesser of all the evils here, honestly, but even though they're from separate teams Kinjou already feels like he has a responsibility to make sure Arakita manages well.

Not to mention he..... doesn't really regret what happened either.]

[Nope, a quick glance in the bathroom mirror tells him he's red as hell and it's for stupid reasons. He's embarrassed about bringing it up, like they haven't already fooled around once - but what he's actually embarassed about is that it's with someone he knows. Not well enough to make it awkward as fuck like Toudou, but he knows him. Somehow, fooling around with complete strangers is less embarrassing and less stressful -

but there will come times where he needs to trust someone about this shit. That's something a stranger can't give him, and Arakita is reluctant to hand over the reigns just like that, but Kinjou is a good captain. He could come to eventually trust him the way he trusts Toudou and Fukutomi. Because like fuck is he going to bring hormones to Toudou.]

That goes for you too, or whatever. If you need to deal with shit and you can't get a hold of Makishima. [Ah yes, making arrangements of 'you can booty call me' is something he was sure he'd never ever do in his life.]

[It's not exactly hard to tell that Arakita is having a difficult time absorbing this arrangement, and Kinjou is once again feeling terrible for putting him in such an awkward spot. Again, he know she's not responsible for any of this, but he's used to shouldering the blame. Arakita shouldn't have to be forced into sexual acts with people because he has to or needs to find a reliable source to find release. That's a thing that happens naturally with someone you care about, someone you trust.

Even though that's... just about how Kinjou is beginning to feel, for him. His own face is growing red, enough that he feels like his glasses could fog up at any moment, and just as he reaches up to try to remove him Arakita keeps talking and--

Kinjou drops his glasses.]

[How does he know he and Makishima.....??]

[He'd been about to deny it out of pure reflex until Kinjou stops himself, then tries to bend down to pick up his glasses only for a sharp pain to shoot up his left leg from his knee. Kinjou hisses faintly then forces himself down the rest of the way, snatches up his glasses and then stands, trying to make it to the nearest seat. He ends up on the couch of his living room. The glasses are set on the table, and he leans back.

His hand brushes over his face. It feels terribly hot.]

Did someone tell you?

[Because he sure didn't. Unless Toudou or Makishima did, but why would they even?]

[Pausing in his awkward talking when he hears that hiss, Arakita waits the few moments as he stands hesitantly with his hand on his doorknob like he could go see just what the hell caused that noise in a heartbeat. Coughing sharply, realizing just what happened now and letting out a laugh, Arakita covers his face for a minute.]

Oh, fuck, I was just kind of going on the assumption since you'd help your friends out and - shit, did I step on a landmine? I literally don't know jack all about your team other than what Toudou rambles about. Maki-chan this, Maki-chan that...

[He can't help the laugh still in his tone - it's not a laughing at sort of noise, it's a laughing with out of nerves.]

[The tone is really not helping, and Kinjou rubs his hand over his face, wishing he could stand so he could get himself a glass of water but he'd rather just. Stay there for the time being.]

No, it's fine, I just wasn't expecting to speak to you about. That. [He barely managed to tell Toudou about it and honestly he hadn't even given him any details. Kinjou hadn't technically even told him, since Toudou had stopped the conversation they'd had upon meeting from getting very far.]

But yes, Makishima and I have been intimate. For the reason you have expressed. [Makishima essentially promised his virginity to him, and Kinjou the same. But Arakita probably doesn't need to know that sort of detail.]

It was literally just an assumption, promise. It's a good reason, I mean, who wants their friends to have to go screw strangers when they can just take one for the team, in a way. [His laughter toned down at least as he spoke, scratching below his nose as he thinks about it for a half minute.]

Really good reason ... Fuck, I'm going to have to talk to Toudou about that sort of thing too, huh. He's got "standards" but at least a familiar face would be .. best. Right? Not in Arakita's case, but normal people preferred someone they knew well.]
