[Surprisingly Kinjou manages to stay pretty awake as he just sits there in the silence of the living room with Arakita pressed against him, focusing on his breathing and the occasional snore that comes out of him. His fingers continue to rake softly through his hair, gaze occasionally wandering across his injuries. It's when he hears a familiar voice speak his name that his head shifts upward where Sugawara stands, eventually approaching him, and his expression quickly fills with sympathy at the other's visible roughed-up state.
He only gives a nod in greeting.]
He is well enough to still complain. [Which honestly, might be a bit of a good thing, because it means Arakita still has some of his usual fight in him. Kinjou would be worried if he acted any other way.] I came by my own choice.
[His hand stays atop Arakita's head, his own voice hushed while he continues to look at Suga with concern.]
I apologize if we woke you. You should continue resting.
[ despite himself, and despite how worn out he is, suga can't help a little laugh at kinjou's comment. ] That's good news, isn't it?
[ crouching down by the couch to get a better look at the bruising on arakita's face, reaching out to push his bangs gently away from his forehead as he clucks a little worried sound under his breath. ] If he wasn't complaining a little, I'd probably be really worried.
[ but! it seems like the ice is at least helping to keep the bruising down, and none of arakita's injuries are showing any signs of scarring or infection, so... they got lucky. really lucky. so he pushes himself back up to his feet again, offering kinjou a little smile. ] Ah, that's okay! I've been trying to stay up to keep an eye on Arakita...
Just in case, you know? [ it's his fault that arakita got hurt, so... it's the least he can do, really. ]
[There is the slightest quirk at the side of his mouth, but very little humor is expressed on Kinjou's face, mostly because he is starting to get rather used to this thing Sugawara tends to do. Where he disguises his concerns with light-hearted comments, tries to make it seem as if he can handle what's happening around him.
He really wishes he would do that sort of thing, not when it's just them, not when Arakita wouldn't want that of him either. He's trying to keep him up for his sake, because he got hurt for him, because this happened all because Sugawara was a mongrel, but he has no reason to shoulder any blame. There shouldn't be a "just in case", like he might be afraid of something terrible happening at any moment.]
I'm rather sure half of the reason Arakita was awake was in order to keep an eye on you. The both of you won't get any proper rest if all you are doing is worrying. [Even if Arakita hadn't outright told him so, he knows he was worried.]
[ and he rocks back on his heels a little, mouth shifting to a slightly worried frown as he spares another glance at arakita. he'd thought that sticking close by to keep an eye on his injuries was the smartest thing to do, but now...? when kinjou puts it like that, it's enough to make him consider the flip side of the coin. ] It might be best if I went back to living out of Daichi's place.
[ ... or worked out a way of moving back into an apartment in midas. there are probably a few other people in eos tower who would put him up, but... in the end, there's a chance that things would come right back around to this sort of situation. the nicest thing about being an elite should be that it keeps you safe and out of trouble, and having a mongrel around only seems to make that less of a certainty. ]

[Kinjou continues to watch him curiously, feeling as if there's some important detail here that he's missing.]

[Obviously the first thing that comes to mind is that Sugawara doesn't want to burden Daichi, what with his injuries and how worried his own captain and friend would be. But from how it sounds, he hasn't been staying with Daichi frequently, instead staying with Arakita on some occasions. While he knows the apartments in Eos Tower have spare rooms, he doesn't quite understand why Suga wouldn't make things easier on himself by staying in one place.]

[He's right, he shouldn't assume it so fully but somehow Kinjou knows he's right, that Suga is hiding something and refuses to let even a hint of it show. Except it's right there, so visible on his face, the little changes of his expression, the way he's choosing to hide it but failing very obviously.]
Sugawara. [Kinjou states his name fully, the sort of way a parent would speak up to get a child's attention.] You believe you are being an inconvenience.

[ ... wow, is he that easy to read? not to mention! it's been awhile since someone's used The Captain Voice on him in earnest, and... coming from kinjou, it's effective enough to startle him a little. almost immediately, that little smile playing around his mouth turns guilty, a kid caught directly with their hand in the proverbial cookie jar.
and, naturally, arakita picks now as the perfect time to wake back up. ]
Mm, you never know. [ letting himself get tugged a little closer to the couch when arakita grabs sleepily at him, trying for humor (and failing miserably). ] Your couch might end up being a hot commodity.
And it's not... [ resisting the urge to shift on his feet a little, feeling like he's due for a scolding. ] I wasn't thinking of it as an inconvenience, really... [ yes he was ] I just...
[And the dog awakens. As soon as Arakita is reaching out an arm, Kinjou almost urges it back down so Arakita doesn't move and hurt himself further, but when he sees that he just seems to be trying to pull Suga over to the couch he leaves him be and just lets out a heavy sigh.]
Now might not be the best time to talk about this. Please sit down. [Kinjou pats the empty side of the couch right next to him.] And you should go back to sleep.
[Suga gets sweet captain, while Arakita gets sour captain, since Kinjou ruffles Arakita's hair enough to make his bangs a complete mess over his forehead.] Do not place Suga on your couch again. Remember that you have guest rooms. You can treat him better than that.
[Making a bit of a face at the ruffling in his hair making his bangs stick up with static, Arakita grunts and starts to pick his head up in clear rebellion about going back to sleep, even if he keeps that hand on Suga's sleeve to keep him near. There's no escape, god damnit - he fell into his life, now he has to stay.]
He spends half the time in my bed, I've told him to use a bed, he just chooses to come out here.
[Arakita doesn't even realize what he's said, his mouth just ran off with the truth and he's too tired still to make a whole lot of sense out of things other than that he's being scolded and Sugawara is feeling like shit still.] So shove off, Kin-chan.
[ ... whoops!! did he get arakita into trouble...?
but okay, their back-and-forth is enough to get a little laugh out of him, even despite the conflicting feelings still bubbling up inside of him. and... kinjou's patting the couch next to him, but arakita's still tugging him impatiently closer to him, so... suga decides to settle on the perfect compromise. which is why he takes advantage of arakita picking himself up stubbornly to wriggle right in between the two of them, careful not to bump arakita's poor tender face as he snuggles into place.
if he's going to be an inconvenience, he might as well go all the way, right? ]
Arakita, it's rude to kiss and tell. [ tone sugar-sweet, even if his smile is anything but. teasing arakita always helps him feel a little bit more... normal. ] You shouldn't go around telling people how often you're taking someone to bed!
[Only something of a little faint grunt escapes Kinjou as Suga sits himself down not quite where he'd been asking for him to be. He wants to tell him to be a little more careful not just with Arakita but because of his knee, but his attention is sort of off in another place for other reasons. Like with how he's just staring at Suga almost scandalized.
Because 1) Arakita just called him "Kin-chan", and it's really odd to hear that nickname come out of him when they're not. Doing things. Sexual things.
and 2) how did they end up talking about the things Arakita and Suga do in bed together? --wait, they're sleeping together? Have they slept together? Arakita is kissing Suga?? Arakita is kissing people????
Kinjou just blinks owlishly then turns his head to Arakita, almost as if silently pleading, "please explain to me this thing that is happening." His face might be slightly red too. Help.]
[The more Arakita wakes up though, the more he's moderately more aware of the extra weight being piled onto his lap and into Kinjou's lap by extension - so he'll reach to tug Sugawara into him for a moment just to shift his legs out of the captain's lap and then let Suga settle again - but by now, he's catching Kinjou's confused face. Tilting his head in that dog-like manner, blinking the sleep out of his eye, Arakita ends up snorting, even if his face heats up bright red.]
Shit, you are taking it literally. I mean - sometimes sleeping there. Not fucking sleeping, sleeping sleeping, that happens normally..!! [Not that fucking sleeping doesn't happen in his bed too between them, but that detail can get left out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!]

He's not one to pry anyway. However somehow, this turned out to be rather good information as he gazes between the two of them, Arakita still reclined in the couch and Suga curled up against him. They look so comfortable with each other... he already knew that they were getting along from what Suga told him back when he asked for gift advice, but seeing it like this is another thing entirely.
Arakita is a complicated person, a bit too gruff but with a good heart. Suga seems to have a habit of assuming negative things about himself and his relationships with others, but he's a kind, gentle person.]

[Tomo-chan just make Arakita scarlet and steam practically come out of his ears. Pushing Sugawara (gently) backwards, almost pushing him out of his lap and into the cushion between him and Kinjou, Arakita is just picking up the extra pillow that has been out here and shoves it over his own face - and just incoherently yells. There's no real words, he's just embarrassed to hell and has to put the energy somewhere or he'll start getting angry.
