Damn. You got a low one, I'm kind of pissed. I'm coming now.]
[Well, about as fast as the elevator works, even if Arakita isn't assuming anything amazing is going to happen. He probably just needed to ask something, though why not over text... mhh. Eventually, there's a knock at the door.]
[It just makes sense. Don't complain, Arakita. Kinjou has been in his apartment for the entirety of the, putting last minute touches on something. When he hears a knock at the door it only takes him a brief few seconds before he answers with a warm expression.]
Hello, Arakita. You may come in if you'd like. I need to retrieve your things first.
[He turns right around in order to head to his bedroom.]
[He made a point with that text, but it wasn't something to respond to really. Quirking an eyebrow, almost hesitant about that warm expression just because he isn't quite expecting it, Arakita lets him go as he steps in and quietly shuts the door behind him.]
[Kinjou's completely oblivious to anything that might be wrong as he returns in about a minute with some sort of bundled up cloth in his hands.]
I would have wrapped it but I guessed that maybe you're the sort that doesn't quite enjoy that sort of thing.
[And Kinjou holds out the thing in his hands for Arakita to take. It's a beanie of sorts, thin fabric but very stretchy. On the front of it is, upon close look, a wolf that has been sewn in.
[Oh. Oh shit. Gifts that are actually gifts. To be honest, he wasn't expecting anything, let alone -- shit. Reaching up to accept both little things, inspecting the sewing less about how it's sewn and more about what he's sewn, Arakita smooths his thumb over the little wolf toy next. They're cute. They're genuinely cute, and it's weird to get a gift that isn't a case of Bepsi.
Not a bad weird though.]
... Thanks. Who told you? Can Toudou really not keep his mouth shut... [There's an urge to put the beanie on right away, but he holds off for now, smoothing his thumb over the nice embroidery.]
[Of course it was Toudou, who else would the news come from? And it only figures that the thing he's best at doing is talking.]
He only informed me of your birthday, and said it might not be a good idea to give you anything. However I didn't feel that would be quite right and so I made you these myself. I'm glad you enjoy them.
[He stands there with a pleased smile. The happiest captain.]
[In the end, he gives in and lifts the beanie to put it on, arranging the wolf so it sat to the left of his forehead, and Arakita can't help the tug in his mouth that borders a proper smile.]
He's an idiot, doesn't need to be talkin about it if he's going to tell people not to give me anythin. Thanks, though.
[He doesn't need to look so pleased with himself, but Arakita ends up feeling damn good anyway.]
[Kinjou's always been proud of his sewing and the little projects he manages to finish, but also, he's happy that he was able to make something that would put that sort of expression on Arakita's face. It's a good look for him; the beanie, and that hint of a smile.]
He's a good member of your team. [He's a good friend, is what Kinjou means.]
Are you hungry? If you have the time, I could make you something to eat. I assure you, it won't be a cake.
[He verbalizes his agreement with nothing but a Mm, he is, but then Kinjou is offereing to cook ... he really can't turn down food, free food, but he doesn't know what Kinjou's skill level in the kitchen is.]
It doesn't have to be anything big. [But yes, he accepts the free food regardless.]
